In the afternoon of July 29, 2023, “I Offer Good Advice for the Development of the School” Symposium for Teachers and Students Phase II was held in Conference Room B201, Shouzheng Building, Lihu Campus, Shenzhen University. Zhang Guoqiang, Deputy Secretary of Party Committee of School of Government, and representatives of sociology alumni, including Ou Yinyan, Zang Qieer and Chen Zhijie, attended the meeting.

Deputy Secretary Zhang Guoqiang, on behalf of the faculty and students of the school, extended a warm welcome to the alumni returning to the school, expressed his heartfelt thanks to the alumni for taking time to attend the symposium, and introduced the school and the progress of alumni work. Deputy Secretary Zhang Guoqiang said that the school attaches great importance to the alumni work and looks forward to more contacts between alumni and teachers and students in the school. The school will strengthen the organizational construction of the Alumni Council, promote the development of alumni activities, realize the common progress of alumni and teachers and students, and help the development of alumni and the school.

At the symposium, the alumni talked about the past days in Liyuan and shared their working, living and learning experiences. They graduated from different grades, and engaged in different industries, but at the moment of sitting together, the barrier was broken immediately. When it came to the help and influence of the major of sociology on personal development, they all thanked the university and major of sociology for providing a platform for their growth. The alumni hoped that the Alumni Association would organize more alumni activities, so that everyone could have more opportunities to enhance mutual understanding and friendship.

The attendees exchanged views on adding candidates to the Alumni Council, further improving the organization and construction of the Alumni Council, carrying out alumni exchange activities, and helping the school to cultivate talents. They also proposed to help the school to cultivate talents and enhance the exchanges between alumni and teachers by carrying out alumni mentor programs, building internship bases, and holding alumni forums.
